There was a day when our house was quiet and boring.. then kids came along, then a pet or two, then a few more, and then the house became rich with commotion and overflowing with love. In all the noise one very special dog started to weave herself into all of our moments. A small inside joke about her cheese tax grew into a daily bonding event and into a running joke. Once we had the idea of putting her story down it took on a life of its own.

This loving dog and our two growing kids were really the start of this book. But it was finished by Ron and Roberta, the writers and illustrator, who realize they have been storytellers their whole lives. Ron is a trial lawyer who grew up on comic books (and never really left them). Roberta is an educator, teaching in elementary school for over 20 years. They live with their two children, dogs, and other pets in Coronado, California.
